Sisu

We all have the capacity to experience sisu. Sisu is a unique Finnish word, untranslatable to another language. Sisu is overcoming challenges in the face of adversity. As we all know life is not easy sometimes, it can be really hard. Sisu is facing life challenges with perseverance, grit, bravery, courage and stamina while working to overcome our challenges. Furthermore, my hope is to help you along your journey such as life in finding Sisu within yourself to assist you in obtaining the goals you seek to accomplish. 

Our Treatment Focus

Our focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. We achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan. 

 Our goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life. 

Our Therapy

Depression & Anxiety

Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counselling and treatment, we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life. 

 

Academic and Career Coaching

Life is full of choices and sometimes it can be hard to decide what might be best for us. Our counsellor is experienced in working with students as well as individuals who are looking for academic and career guidance.  

Trauma & PTSD

Many individuals experience symptoms associated with painful memories of traumatic experiences. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. We can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing. 

 

Relationships

Relationship counselling can be beneficial to couples or families who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection, in all stages of their relationships. Telephone or zoom therapy sessions are held for couples as well as families as a supportive place to discuss issues and solutions to better strengthen your relationships.
